Hi, my name is Murray Gardiner and it is with pleasure that I welcome you to St Francis Xavier Primary School. I started working at St Francis Xavier Primary at the beginning of 2001 as a classroom teacher and then in the middle of 2002 took on the role of Assistant Principal Administration.

The role of Assistant Principal is to share with the Principal the educational, pastoral, theological and managerial leadership of the school and its community. My main responsibilities as part of the school leadership team are based on the day to day running of the school, developing and implementing policies or procedures, behaviour management, and planning, developing and implementing curriculum throughout the school.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working at St Francis Xavier with the fantastic school community of staff, students and parents that we have here. I look forward to continually working towards St Francis Xavier providing the high standard of Education it has been known for.

Kind Regards

Murray Gardiner

As an Assistant Principal of Saint Francis Xavier Primary School I welcome you to our school website. My name is Donna Kempton and I have been working in Catholic Education Western Australia since 1987 and have held a School Leadership Role from 2004. I have spent my entire education career working in the Geraldton diocese and have been at Saint Francis Xavier since the beginning of 1989.

Having started my teaching career under the guidance of our founders the Presentation Sisters I strive to continue their work within our school. In my role as a Curriculum Leader I try to foster their traditions of a quality education for all.

The role of an Assistant Principal is to share with the Principal the pastoral care of students, staff and the school community, educational practices across all Learning Areas, the managerial aspects of running a school and the theological/faith formation of the school community.

In my role as Curriculum leader I ensure that we are planning our teaching and learning experiences for students using the Curriculum Framework Documents and reporting against Progress Maps levels. I also oversee the collection and analysis of student/school performance data so that we can improve our teaching programs. As part of Shared Leadership other responsibilities also include the planning and implementing of policies and curriculum throughout the school, planning Professional Development and being involved with the day to day organisation of a school.

Saint Francis is a school that strives to be welcoming to all, build a sense of community and belonging amongst our families and offer support to those in need.

Kind Regards

Donna Kempton
