Principal's Welcome

Christus Lux Mea (Christ My Light)

My name is Therese Asplin and I’m the Principal of St Francis Xavier School in Geraldton. I have been working in Catholic Education in Western Australia since 1979 and have held a School Leadership Role since 1992, ten of those years as a Principal. I’ve been at St Francis Xavier since the beginning of 2007.

Over the past 30 years, St Francis Xavier School has taken pride in offering Catholic values and excellent curriculum for Kindergarten through to Year 7 children. Our story is embedded in the traditions of the Presentation Sisters and the Christian Brothers.

Our purpose is to provide a Catholic primary education for Catholic children of Geraldton, and in particular for the St Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish. We offer a welcoming environment wherein the development of each person and the education offered reflects gospel values.

With Christ as our light and guide and children at the centre of our practice and teaching we continue in the footsteps of those who have gone before us. We work to build community, to forge links between the school, the parish, parents and the local community and to support parents in their role as the prime educators of their children.

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to our school.

God bless
